Andy Armstrong

Andy Armstrong joined Stowell Crayk, PLLC, in July 2025 following more than 25 years of military and federal government service and specializes in Immigration Law.   He earned his law degree from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2001 and was admitted to the Utah Bar that same year.  Prior to law school, Andy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University.

After becoming an attorney, Andy served as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Air Force’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps for six years, with assignments at Hurlburt Field, Florida, and Beale Air Force Base, California.  In the Air Force, Andy’s practice focused on Military Justice, as both a prosecutor and Area Defense Counsel.

Following his stint in the Air Force, Andy served as a Foreign Service Officer (diplomat/Political Officer) with the U.S. State Department for nearly 20 years, with foreign assignments in Mexico, Poland, Pakistan, Thailand, Senegal, and Egypt.  He received numerous awards for his service including three State Department Superior Honor Awards and the Department’s 2018 Human Rights and Democracy Achievement Award, recognizing his work promoting human rights in Thailand.

Andy was born and raised in Sandy, Utah, and is happy to be back serving in his community after 25 years living across the United States and around the world.  He is fluent in Spanish and has some lingering skill in Polish, Thai, and French.
