In 1996, Mr. Stowell founded this law firm. As partner, Douglas Stowell specializes in family law and criminal defense. Mr. Stowell has developed a broad range of expertise, having been employed with an insurance defense firm, a municipal tort liability and white collar criminal defense firm, and serving as a small claims court judge in the Third District Court, State of Utah, Murray Division. As Partner, Adam has put blood, sweat, and tears into building his practice and the Stowell Crayk, PLLC Firm. Adam has been highly successful and is known in Utah for his expertise in “Crimmigration,” the intersection at which Immigration Law and Criminal Defense meet. His work on numerous cases has been innovative and has changed the practice of immigration in Utah and the Tenth Circuit. A graduate of the Creighton University School of Law, Adam has been named a Utah Legal Elite Criminal Defense and Immigration Attorney for three years in a row.

Jeremy started his career at the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office where he worked in both justice and district court proceedings. Jeremy comes to Stowell Crayk with a wide range of jury trial experience that ranges from DUIs to murder.

CHRISTINE ESCHENFELDER

An associate attorney, Christine has been with Stowell Crayk, PLLC since 2008. Our resident expert in Employment-based immigration petitions, Christine specializes in H1B Visas, H2B Visas, PERM Processing, and Employment-based Consular Processing. Christine’s immigration practice has allowed her to work with clients from around the world. She has assisted clients through consular processing from London to Ankara to South Africa and many consulates between. Christine is committed to being highly accessible to her clients and she invites you to contact her to discuss your immigration needs.

JOSEPH JOHNSON

As an associate attorney, Joseph Johnson has been with Stowell Crayk, PLLC, for 7 years. Joe’s practice is mainly immigration focused with particular expertise in Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, U Visas, and DACA. Joe has worked on hundreds of family-based petitions and is always up to speed on the ever changing policies and practices in immigration law. Joe enjoys working with clients and finding the best outcome for all those involved.

MARTI L. JONES

Marti L. Jones is of counsel to the firm, and our resident asylum and refugee law expert. Marti has been practicing immigration law for nearly 30 years. She has practiced immigration law in several states and settings–as a solo practitioner, in a small firm setting, and in the non-profit sector. She has handled nearly every type of immigration case, from rescission and removal defense through family and employment immigration, naturalization, and humanitarian applications. Her experience brings both depth and breadth of knowledge to our practice. Marti’s national network helps keep her up-to-date on the frontlines of immigration law. Marti has been with Stowell Crayk, PLLC, since 2018.

SAMUEL L. KNIGHT

An associate attorney, Sam has extensive experience in criminal law and government policy. Sam Graduated Weber state University where he interned in Washington DC with the Middle East Policy Counsel and at the Utah state capital with Representative Ryan Wilcox. Sam attended Creighton University School of Law where he earned his Masters in Government Organization and Leadership and his JD. While at Creighton Sam clerked for the United States Senate Committee on Finance oversight and investigations team and participated in the international Moot Court in Nuremberg Germany as well as the advanced trial team. He has been working at Stowell Crayk, PLLC since December of 2017.

MICHAEL TED THORNOCK

An Associate Attorney at Stowell Crayk, PLLC, Michael Ted Thornock is one of the rising stars in the legal world. He specializes in Criminal Defense, Family Law, Debt Collection, Landlord/Tenant issues, Contracts, Immigration, and General Civil Litigation. Michael is one of the few Spanish speaking mediators in the State of Utah and is on both the Utah Basic and Divorce Mediation Rosters. He graduated from Creighton University School of Law in 2016 and was admitted to the Utah Bar in October 2016. Michael is a well-respected litigator and mediator and works hard to get the best result for his clients.

HEIDI A. CHAMORRO LEON

An Associate Attorney at Stowell Crayk, PLLC, Heidi’s practice primarily focuses on criminal defense, family law, personal injury and civil litigation. Heidi received her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law. Prior to joining Stowell Crayk Heidi worked in compliance at Goldman Sachs until she was able to successfully petition the Utah Supreme Court to make a Utah State Bar rule change which would allow her to sit for the Utah bar. She is licensed in Utah and California. 
 

CRAIG STANGER

ATTORNEY

Craig is an associate at Stowell Crayk. His practice centers on criminal defense and government investigations on a variety of cases including DUI, domestic violence, sex crimes, and homicide. A cum laude graduate of Western Michigan University Law School, Craig began his career in 2008 with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office where he worked for several years in the Domestic Violence and Special Victims Units. Craig joined the firm in 2021 after nearly 14 years as a prosecutor. He has
extensive litigation experience in complex criminal cases and has completed several jury trials. He has also briefed cases and argued in the Utah Court of Appeals.

TODD BANKS

A native of Spanish Fork, Utah, S. Todd Banks is the most recent addition to the elite criminal defense team at Stowell Crayk. A graduate of Brigham Young University and the Creighton University School of Law, Todd started his career at a general practice firm in Heber City, Utah. While there, Todd discovered his passion for criminal law covering a monthly public defender day in the Heber City Justice Court. This passion lead him to Northern Nevada where he clerked for the Honorable Jim C. Shirley in the Eleventh Judicial District Court. This experience allowed Todd to be exposed to winning written and oral arguments that are effective in criminal cases just like yours.

Daniel Heaps joined the Stowell Crayk, PLLC, team as an associate attorney in 2021. After graduating from the University of Utah in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Daniel attended Creighton University School of Law. Daniel graduated as a Juris Doctor of Law in Litigation. Before coming to Stowell Crayk, Daniel worked as a Victim Counselor at the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office. Daniel’s practice areas include family law, civil litigation, and criminal defense.

Ivy Telles is an associate attorney at Stowell Crayk. Her practice centers on criminal defense, immigration, and family law. She graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine in Criminology. Ivy joined the firm after nearly 10 years as a prosecutor. She previously prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors in the Summit County Attorney’s Office from April 2015 to August 2022. Prior to that, she prosecuted misdemeanors in Taylorsville City from January 2013 to April 2015. Ivy is passionate about her work and tries to get the best results for her clients.
